Chapter: The Islam of the Jinn -
English:
The Recitation of Surah Ar-Rahman
The Prophet (ﷺ) recited Surah "Ar-Rahman" and then said, "Why do I see you silent? The jinn were better in their response than you. Whenever I recited this verse to them: ﴾So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?﴿ [Ar-Rahman: 13], they replied, 'We do not deny any of Your blessings, our Lord, so for You is all praise.'" Zuhayr is considered weak.
Story of Abu Huraira
Amr ibn Yahya ibn Sa’id ibn Amr ibn Al-As narrated from his grandfather Sa'id that Abu Huraira would follow the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) with a container for his ablution water. The narration continues: "A group of the jinn from Naseebin came to me and asked for provisions. I prayed to Allah for them that they would not pass by dung or bone without finding sustenance therein." This was recorded by Al-Bukhari (1). This incident is a part of the chapter on the courage and strong heart of the Prophet (ﷺ).
The Jinn's Attempt to Interrupt the Prayer
It is narrated from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Huraira, from the Prophet (ﷺ) who said, "A mischievous jinn attempted to interrupt my prayer last night, but Allah enabled me to overpower him. I seized him and intended to tie him to one of the pillars of the mosque so all of you could see him. However, I remembered the supplication of my brother Solomon: ﴾My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such that will not belong to anyone after me.﴿ [Sad: 35], so I released him humiliated." In another version: "I took him and strangled him." This is agreed upon (2).
